As usual, work has been pretty hectic lately. All staffs were required to work full shifts for the next few weeks due to the company annual stocktaking event and some of the staffs will be going on holiday in the early of next month. Argh!!! My leave application was being withdrawn by my managers as they think that the company will be facing extreme shortage of management staffs on that particular week which I applied leave. But they do allow me to go on leave during weekends. Muahahaha … Initially, I applied leave for five days in a row but then it's gonna "shrink" to two days only. Hahaha …

Anyways, I am currently planning my vacation to both Singapore and KL during July. There might be some changes with the itinerary. I had been changing my itinerary for the past few days and I pretty sure that Andrea has gotten sick of me for not being decisive enough. Well, it's not my fault anyways. Hahaha … But this time, I am gonna do it the hard way. I am gonna book the ticket before and only apply leave once the ticket has been confirmed. Hahaha …

Initially, I am planning to go SG for 3D2N. In the end, I'm intrigued to go KL as well. Hahaha … So, I invited Andrea to tag along. Initially, she was interested. But by the end of the day, she told me that why would she want to go KL when she could have all the fun in SG. *sweat*

So, I am looking for a travelling partner now. It's so hard to look for a travelling partner to go KL with me coz I am the only weirdo coming out from the jungle who has yet been to KL. I once got mocked by my ex university housemates back in the UK for not been to KL despite being a Malaysian. Argh!!!

Anyways, I shall negotiate my way out with Andrea. Hahaha … But I don't think I am generous enough to sponsor her entire trip to KL. Hahaha … I shall see how things and decide what to do later. *sigh*

I was browsing through W H Smith and Waterstones website a while ago and found out that two of my most wanted fictions are finally out in the market. Hooray!! I am gonna check whether Popular Bookstore in Malaysia is selling it. Or I would have to ask my Sister to bring it back from UK for me. Of course, I am paying her!

Exhausted!!!

My entire body is screaming in pain. I was wearing heels of three and a half inches to work this morning. I brought along a pair of slippers to work coz I knew for sure that I would feel tired walking around with heels. And guess what? One of the straps on my slippers went off! Of all days, it happened on the day when I was in a hurry to get myself some dinner before looking after departments when the Muslim staffs were off to have their dinner after starving for like more than 12 hours. Hahaha …

To make things worst, my nightmare didn't just end with a broken pair of slippers. The entire food court was packed. Both my colleague and I couldn't even find a single empty table. Lesson learned, never ever attempt to go for dinner some time after five in the afternoon during Ramadan season or else you're gonna have a hard time looking for tables and chairs.

My meal routine hasn't been very stable lately. Normally, I have my lunch at around 12PM. But there were quite a few times when I got tied up with work, I have no choice but to go for lunch at 1PM and then had dinner again about two hours later. Damn crazy! The food which was just being taken in few hours ago weren't even completely digested yet. *sigh*

Anyways, it will be a peak period from 17th September till 20th September at the place where I am currently working. Non-Muslim staffs were only allowed to have their lunch for 15 minutes and there will be complimentary lunch from the company. Being an Executive in the Human Resource Department, I was being handed the task of choosing the lunch menu.

Yay! I get to choose to order the food which I eat and banning the restaurant from cooking food which I hate a lot. Hahaha … That was just a joke. Basically, I eat everything apart from bitter gourd, bean sprouts and omelette with big onions. Big onion makes you fart big time and they are damn smelly. And mind you, everything doesn't include cow dung, dog poo and etc.

Since I was being given the privilege to choose the lunch menu, I will make sure that I make full use of it. *evil grin* Two of my colleagues will be following me to New Sentosa for lunch tomorrow to check out their "economy" rice. Hahaha … "Economy" rice means you are allowed to choose two or three dishes to go with your rice at a specified price. But of course, the more meat you take, the costly it is.

Right … I guess this is all for now. Time to hit the sack and let my feet rest.

Have I Turned Into A Workaholic?

I hope not! Hahaha … I remembered the time when Andrea asked me whether I do think of her as a workaholic coz there were some of our friends whom believed that she is one of them. We never get to know how on earth they got such information. But sometimes, looks could be deceiving too. I would say that she is someone who is hardworking towards her studies but I could swear to God that she will never be a workaholic as long as she lives.

Do you know why I insisted that she will never be a workaholic? Hahaha … Let me tell you something. She has this over-exaggerating fantasy towards DBSK. Watching their videos over YouTube or whatever-I-don’t-know online streaming website has been a daily routine for the past couple of months. I wonder whether it had been a year. Hahaha … She’s crazy at times. Hahaha …

For someone who always gets an “overdose” of DBSK videos for every single working day don’t sounds like a workaholic to me. She could leave everything behind and glued herself in front of her laptop for hours drooling over their videos. At times, she might ignore me and proceeds with her own fantasies. Hahaha … Just kidding. Well, she does do that at times. But I was busy with my own work when she ignored me the previous few times. Hahaha …

Alright, back to me. I had been working frequent full shifts for the past two weeks ever since I got back to work after I took three days leave. Well, things aren’t piling up. But then, it seems like I have got never ending jobs. Whenever you finish a job, other jobs will start piling up again. And then, it’s like you think you will never get to finish them on time.

I was supposed to get off from work at five today. I carefully plan my working schedule for the week. I had finished finalizing the temporary staff salary yesterday evening and sorting out senior staff and clerks’ wages sheet, OT forms, changing shift forms and time card. I was supposed to get off from work at nine yesterday night but then when I punched my time card, it was already 10:20PM.

People think that I am stressed. Well, I don’t think so. I don’t like things to pile up when I know I have got bigger task coming soon. Sometimes, working life could be hectic. Who would say that working life is enjoying and interesting anyways? I do think that some will do. But not all, I would say. Sometimes, I do enjoy work. When things start to get out of control, you would wish that you have got an assistant helping you around.

There’s only my manager and me in my department. The previous clerk was being transferred to another branch so I am currently multi-tasking. I am a Department Executive whilst dealing with clerical job at the same time. *sigh* Life is always so unfair.

I just found this interesting piece of article on the website about the symptoms of being a workaholic. Okay … Here it goes. I am gonna evaluate them one by one and decide later whether I am really being a workaholic. Maybe I should check out whether Facebook has got this kind of quiz?

The workaholic not only works hard but also sets impossibly high standards and is beset by a sense of never being good enough. => I do work hard at times but I seldom thought about never being good enough. So, that’s an out!

The workaholic’s need to please others is a driving force that prevents him/her from noticing the impact of overworking on his/her own health and well-being. => Out!

He/She has a strong need to control other people and situations, and he/she finds it difficult to delegate responsibilities. "If I want it done well, I have to do it myself," is a characteristic workaholic belief. => Hmm … I’ll have a think about this in a greater depth.

The workaholic life is characterized by a striking lack of balance. The workaholic gives himself little time to develop and enjoy personal relationships. Caring for herself is low on her priority list, and health problems are often ignored until they become debilitating. => Out!

Moving from task to task, deadline to deadline, the workaholic feels most alive when totally immersed in a project or dashing between several projects. The workaholic may become addicted to the adrenaline rush generated by dealing with a crisis. => Okay … I hate crisis and I don’t have adrenaline rush when I am working. Out!

The workaholic uses work to escape from difficult feelings and in this process loses awareness of her desires and needs. The family members and friends of the workaholic experience themselves as a lower priority than his/her work, and this experience frequently erodes relationships. => Out!

In conclusion, I personally don’t think that I am a workaholic. Hooray! I’ve passed and escaped from the deadly symptoms. Hahaha! xD

I found this picture to be funny. But it doesn’t mean that I am a workaholic. Hahaha … Ciao!
