God! I am gonna be having an awfully hectic working hours for the coming week. One of my superiors will be transferred to another branch with effect from tomorrow. And my other superior is currently on leave. This is total madness! *sigh* Anyways, a few colleagues and I had lunch at Secret Recipe today. We usually have our lunches at the food court in The Mall. We are expecting a large crowd at the food court so we decided to dine outside food court. It's been a while since we went back to Secret Recipe. Secret Recipe is currently doing His Majesty's birthday promotion. It is a super value deal. You can get any choice of cake you like at half price!!! But under the condition that you have to reserve before 12 July 2010 and the cake must be collected on 15 July 2010. So, hurry before the deal finishes. Additionally, Secret Recipe is currently offering free Chicken Cornish Pie in conjunction to the football fever going around lately. You are entitled a free Chicken Cornish Pie for every two main course you ordered. There wouldn't be much rating being given here as I did not try out any of my colleagues' food. Hahaha …. 1. Chicken Kebab The kebab looked nice on the outside but Jasmine commented that the chicken cubes were slightly too dry and its nothing to shout about. Anyways, I like the food presentation. 2. Pan-Grilled Catch of The Day with Lobster Sauce And the catch of the day is Dory! Poor Dory. I used to name one of my friends Dory as he tends to be very forgetful and has a very short term memory at times. Do you know why I called him Dory??? Why Dory, of all the names? Whoever had watched Finding Nemo before would know the answer to that question. Hahaha … Dory is forgetful and has a very short term memory. He could remember some things at this minute and forgot all about it at the very next minute. Hahaha … 3. Black Peppered Sauce Chicken One of my colleagues recommended this. It smelled quite nice. I might try this the next time I dine at Secret Recipe. *wink* 4. Grilled Chicken with Turmeric Sauce This is what I had for lunch today. It took me a while to decide what I want to eat. I had the waiter substitute the side boiled vegetables for mashed potatoes and that was a stupid decision. Reason being, the mashed potatoes tasted extremely bland. But the turmeric sauce tasted not bad. Rating: 7 out of 10 5. Chicken Cornish Pie You could either choose to have spicy or original. We had both flavors since we are entitled two free Chicken Cornish Pies. I think this is all for now. Too much of food pictures lately. I think I should blog something more to my life. But I doubt anyone of you would want to read since my life is dull and boring. And my life only revolves around work most of the time. *sweat*
It's been days since I last updated. Hasn't been having the time to do so hence the hiatus. Anyways, I had started my job seeking marathon since last week and it hasn't been very productive at all. Perhaps all I needed now is patience and the determination to get a new job. Mind you, I am not at all unemployed at the moment (if that's what you are thinking). I just thought maybe it's time for a career change. Sometimes, things just don't go the way you wanted them to be. Well, life just isn't perfect. Anyways, I hadn't been downloading much lately as there had been some problem with my downloading software. No idea what had gone wrong but … Haiz … I am going for a holiday afterall sometime in May or June. JiaJia and I planned to go KK in the mid of June. But then, I think I might need to shift the dates forward. I can't wait till June. I needed to go somewhere out of Brunei. No idea why and don't even bother to ask. I am not gonna say anything. Anyways, here's an update of what I had been doing for the past few days. I went to town last Wednesday to get some printing done for my CVs. How I wish I had bought a printer in the first place. It's so inconvenient when you needed you a printer and you happened not to have one. Argh! Later had lunch at Cheezbox, The Mall. I had ordered Sesame Milk Tea. Something which I longed to have since a while ago. But whenever I tried to order for it, they always tell me they it was out of stock. *sweat* Couldn't they at least made an effort to make sure that they have an infinite amount of sesame stashed somewhere in their stockroom? Ignore me! I am not in the right state of mind at the moment. Needed something to let my overgrown emotion out of me and retail therapy doesn't seem to work! Finally, I get to have my long awaited Sesame Milk Tea. And frankly speaking, I don't really like it coz I think they had put too much sugar syrup in it. Alright, you can have the perfect taste of sesame but I do think that the sugar level is too much. Had Beef Lasagna since it's been ages I had it. Anyways, didn't manage to finish the whole thing and left some. Too oily, I would say. Whilst I was waiting for my food to arrive, I went online with my newly purchased iPod Touch. Well, I think it was an impulse purchase. I was desperate in need for some kind of retail therapy and the first thing which I wanted to have is an iPod Touch. I wouldn't completely agree that it was an impulse purchase as I had always wanted it few months ago on my birthday. But my friends told me not to get one since it's not worthwhile the money paid for. Right, so I followed their advice and not buying it. Over these past few months, I had always been visiting the store and to have a look at the displayed iPod Touch to overcome my "crave". I know crave isn't the right word but I can't think of the right vocabulary now. Before I bought my iPod Touch few days ago, I had a debate in my heart. I was weighing the pros and cons. Hahaha … Then I was thinking, if I had bought the iPod Touch, what am I gonna do with my iPod Shuffle? Lastly, I came to my decision that I am either gonna sell it off or just give it to my Sister. Done! So, I bought my iPod Touch at $308. Loads of people thought it's expensive. I thought so too. I could have just add another $68 and get a nice decent looking LG phone. *sob sob* Too late! But seriously, I am not regretting getting myself the iPod Touch despite being expensive. I can always go online when I am on the move. There's no need for heavy and bulky laptop anymore! Hooray! I could watch videos on YouTube, visiting my own blog and even others! There are still some other features but I have yet finished exploring my iPod Touch. Normally, it takes me quite a while to figure the way around a new gadget. Especially something which comes from Apple?
Colleagues and I had lunch at the newly renovated Thai Restaurant at The Mall, Gadong few days ago. I had been eating out lately and my stomach kinda felt uneasy after those heavy and spicy foods. Ran to the loo straight after I had finished the meal and had my colleagues to pay for me beforehand. Hahaha … The foods were just average to me. This isn't my first time dining at the restaurant. The first time had been a very satisfying one. I guess the chef wasn't in a very good mood that day hence the food cooked out weren't that great either. Hahaha … Anyways, let me show you the pictures of the food we had that day … 1. Tom Yam in Clear Soup This doesn't taste that great coz the soup weren't hot and spicy enough. Just sour but not spicy enough. And my colleagues told the waitress not to add in crabs; hence the soup is not as nice as the previous one we had. 2. Mango Fish The fish were deeply fried and it's a bit hard. Nonetheless, it still tastes alright. Not great but alright. 3. Stir-Fry Baby Kailan Nothing to comment about it. xD 4. Green Chicken Curry I did not have a lot of it coz I have a weak stomach for coconut milk especially if they were not fresh. According to my colleagues, the Green Curry was a bit too spicy but they enjoyed it a lot. 5. Pineapple Fried Rice This was nice! The flavorings were just right. =D
For those who live in Brunei, I am pretty sure you know that there's another Excapade Sushi in Regent Square around Kiulap area. So, the three of us – Jenny, Jia and I went to try out the new place some time last week. It was my first time going there but not the first time for the other two girls. We had a hearty meal and we ordered a table full of dishes. Hahaha … People might be shocked at how much the three of us could eat. Well, there were quite a few stuffs which I found nice. I like their Enoki Battayaki. It is needle mushroom cooked with oyster sauce. Hahaha … We paid quite a lot for a person. Jenny and I paid $16 each and Jia paid for about $20 coz she ordered takeaways for her family. Anyways, I like the way they serve you Green Tea in this new branch. They give tea bags in each and every cup rather than the tea pots they are using at the Gadong Branch. And they have got this little hot water dispenser by the side of your table. So, you can refill as much as you like without even thinking that the waiter or waitress giving you a face when you kept on asking for refills. Hahaha … PS: There will be loads of pictures about Japanese food coming soon. So, if you are currently craving for Japanese food, I will suggest you leave the page before you start blaming me for your crave towards Japanese food. Hahaha … Just kidding! 1). Green Tea A very convenient way for both the customers and the waiter/waitress. Customers can have their refill any time they want. 2). Tuna Sushi I don't know the real name for this sushi in their menu so I made it up. Hahaha … But I think it should be something like that in the menu. Hahaha … Normally, I don't like sushi that comes with Tuna. But surprisingly, I liked it. Jenny and Jia were surprised that I eat raw salmon and fishes. I think I had given them the wrong impression in the first place. Hahaha … I had taken an interest towards raw salmon and fishes ever since I came back from the UK. My Sister likes to buy those raw salmon from ASDA. I tried them before and they are nice. That's when I started eating raw salmon. 4). Mini California Roll I like those crispy flakes covering the sushi. It's nice. There are cheese, crabstick and avocado on the inside. We ordered thrice for this. *sweat* 5). Enoki Battayaki Hehehe … We ordered this dish twice. I was the one who proposed to have it ordered the second time. Both Jenny and Jia agreed on it. But what happened in the end was that they don't feel like eating it anymore when it came, so I had to finish half of it all on my own. *duh* 6). Tamago with Mayo and "Fish Eggs" 7). I don't know what's this called but I liked it a lot. Hahaha … 8). Gyoza This is just average. I prefer the Gyoza which I used to have at Taro Restaurant, Soho. 9). Haru Maki It's actually Cheese Spring Roll with bits of prawn meat on the inside. It tastes good if you dip it with their Chili Sauce. I guess this is all for now. Can't think of anything else to write about. Hahaha … Anyways, I will be celebrating my 22nd Birthday at Capers, Kiulap on the 6th October. More food pictures coming up. If you have a thing for Italian Cuisine, Capers might be the place for you. I am thinking of trying Savy's Brasserie when I have got the chance. *winks* Ciao.
3). Mini Salmon Mayo
