Hey … Just got back from dinner like two hours ago and I am now sitting right in front of my notebook scratching my head for inspirations. Hahaha … I was just joking. Well, we did go to this BerryWan Hot Pot Restaurant in Gadong. Much to my surprise, the place is way smaller than I had first anticipated. For your information, this place only serves steamboat buffet from 6PM till 11PM, if I am not mistaken.

And they do serve normal food like Sweet and Sour Chicken and bla bla bla on other time of the day. I had a quick look on that sort of food and I do find their prices to be reasonable. Well, of course, we did not go for the rice thingy just now. We went for their buffet steamboat which was quoted $10 per person.

Well, I don’t think I have eaten enough to the value of $10. Talk about their soup bases, they have got two soup bases which you could choose from – Chicken and Tom Yam. The three of us – JiaJia, Jenny and I wanted to go for Tom Yam but birthday boy doesn’t seem to be keen about the idea. So, we decided to go for the alternative. I am not exactly fond of their soup base as I find it a bit too salty for my liking.

And they have this notice for customers that they charge for wastage. That’s the only bad thing about buffet. You have to “digest” whatever you took from the buffet counter or else you will be liable for the food which you have wasted. So, we obediently finished everything (practically) we took from the counter. But then I realised that the notice was sort of a warning memo to customers not to waste food coz I don’t think that they really do charge. They don’t even bother to check our pot or table when we were paying up. We shouldn’t have stuffed ourselves with so much food when we were about to bloat.

After dinner, we went to this “video” store which sells pirated DVDs and VCDs. Well, VCDs are so out nowadays. *duh* I have gotten myself four new DVDs which I couldn’t seem to find enough seeding to download on the Internet. I got Wild Child (which I so wanted to watch it while I was still in UK), Labor Pains (tried to download it few days ago but no luck with the seeds), Fired Up (same with Labor Pains) and Vampire Knight Guilty.

Hehehe … I think I had done watching most of the episodes of Vampire Knight Guilty but then Crunchyroll seems to have stop uploading the last few episodes when I was dying to watch it.

And then I bought another DVD from Golden Music Centre which I couldn’t find at UNITEK. Well, they do have but at the price of $4 when I could have gotten the same thing at the same price but with a rather fancy packaging. Hahaha … I could be very fussy about this at times. Hahaha …

I guess this is all for now. I will upload the pictures of the birthday dinner some other time in the future when I have gotten hold of all the pictures. Hahaha …

It’s Diddy 19^th Birthday today. Hahaha … I know it sounded weird to refer someone as Diddy on their blog. But then every one of us got used to calling him Diddy rather than his usual name coz he is the youngest one in our childhood gang. So, that was how his nickname was being created. Hahaha …

JiaJia and I decided to bring him out for dinner later on to celebrate for his only 19^th Birthday. It took us quite a while to decide where we are gonna bring him. Seriously, there’s no solid answer to that question yet coz there were so many options to choose from.

Seriously, it’s only now that I realised that there have been so many eateries in Brunei since I last came back from UK. My ideal places of dining are mostly in either Kiulap or Gadong. But then, I recently found out that Serusop is the new eating area around Brunei.

They have got these few restaurants with fancy names. Well, names could be deceiving at times. You’ll never know. JiaJia and I decided on two places just not long ago. If it doesn’t rain tonight, we will go for the steamboat place right next to the NBT Toyota showroom in Gadong. However, if we are that unlucky, then we will try out the “not-so-new” restaurant called The Other Office in Serusop.

I had read verdicts about The Other Office from the Internet. It wasn’t so good and not so bad either. Well, all I can say is that different people have different taste buds. If it doesn’t suit other people, it doesn’t mean it has to be the same for you too.

I seriously would like to try the new Ice Bar & Café Shabu Shabu which was just established not long ago. But I heard that the place ain’t cheap at all. You get a small portion out of the big money you paid for.

I guess this is all for now till later on after dinner. Ciao … I am off to prepare for tonight’s dinner.

My work probation period is about to come to an end. Well, I do have another 10 days to go before it officially ends. You may think that I am bragging that I am gonna pass my probation. Well, I am not coz I have already gotten a confirmation verbally. Well, it wasn’t in black and white yet. But soon! xD

Finally, after all the hard work and effort poured in the past six months. Hahaha … I was just being exaggerating. There was no hard work and big effort at all. Maybe a little.

I remembered the first time when I was being told that my probation would last for six months, I was thinking: “What? That long???!!!” inside my head. Hahaha … But then after I started working for like two months, I did not even bother to count how many months I have got left before I finish my probation.

It feels like I had just started this job not long ago and now my probation is almost coming to an end. Two months after I started this job, I was involved in the annual stocktaking event. We as Senior Staff have to work full shifts for two weeks in a row. And then there will be this Hari Raya season coming soon whereby we might have to work full shifts for two months in a row.

I was playing with some of the Facebook quiz yesterday out of boredom. And then I chose to go for this “What job should you get?” quiz. And guess what answer did I get landed with? ….. A doctor!!! … Of all the occupations!! How could I have ended with a doctor? I bet someone is laughing her ass off the moment she reads this. Haiz … *sweat*

I would be happier if the answer comes out to be a LAWYER!!! xD

This is gonna be a late backdated post. I was supposed to upload the pictures aeons ago but I just haven’t got the time to do it. When I was back from Miri last month, I was tied up with a lot of things at work. I was due to finish the salary payment on the same week. Hence, the delay. =D

Alright … Let’s get moving with the show, shall we? There was a birthday celebration going on last month at Secret Recipe. It was Andrea’s 23^rd Birthday. Sorry, my dear. Muahahahaz … She’s gonna hate me for revealing her real age. Never mind. She will never be able to murder me in such a short period.

Anyways, it was my first time experience dining at Secret Recipe. Actually, I was able to dine at Secret Recipe few years ago when I visited KK with some of my friends. But then I down with a terrible flu hence I had to stay home while the rest enjoy their food.

I was pretty disappointed with the food they offered. My Beef Lasagne wasn’t exactly something which I would applaud for. It was just average. I preferred the Beef Lasagne I had at Cheezbox all these while.

We also had two side orders of cakes – Tiramisu and New York Cheese. The Tiramisu itself taste just fine while New York Cheese is too cheesy. Both Andrea and Alan loved it but … Not me!

There will be a new Secret Recipe outlet in Brunei soon. The place is still under renovation but I bet it’s gonna be launched real soon as all the signboards were already in place. Hahaha …
